If you can't or choose not to play something higher, you simply pass. If a 6 card straight is played, only a higher straight of exactly 6 cards can be played on top of it.

When any particular set is lead, that dictates the structure of the trick and only higher versions of the same type can be played on top. Tricks are progressive until all players pass to the current trick leader.
